The genre of my music magazine is heavy, hardcore alternative music which is more rock than the type of music in Kerrang! advertises. My influences was mainly a Rocksound magazine because that is more towards my music magazine. They influenced my music magazine with colours, photo ideas and layouts for the contents and feature. The conventions i have done are ones which i know will attract my target audience and fit in with my music genre. The conventions i have are typical ones which you would expect in a music magazine.

The title i have closer fits in with the genre of my music magazine which is 'Alternative Sounds'. The costume my model wore is jeans and t-shirts which is just regular casual wear. Looking in magazines like Rock Sound i see that inmost of the male images that is what they're wearing. I have used only one prop in one image which is drum sticks because this symbolises Sam as being a drummer.The title font and placement is a convention of the font being quite regular plain and simple to read. The placement is what you expect as being straight across the top of the page. The actual written content of my magazine is slightly informal because my target audience is teenagers. The length is suitable and not too much to make it boring. The feature page is two pages long because any longer i feel would be too much for my desired audience. The contents page has a suitable amount of pictures and writing, i have used pictures also as the contents page to make it more interesting rather then lots of text telling you what page it is on. The images used are ones of bands which my audience would instantly recognise, this way it would attract more of my audience.
The conventions i have stuck to are title placement, barcode, details (price and date) and the selling line. This is because they're what you expect in a magazine and where you would expect them to be. On my contents page i have stuck to all of the conventions but i have challeged the contact box. This is because not in many magazines they have these on their contents page but ones like mine like Rocksound do. Below is the image which symoblises my main feature.

There is a photo on my contents page on the right hand side of my page. This is the type of person that would be my target audience. This person is alternative because he is a guy with really long hair and he has numerous facial piercings. He wears t-shirts and hoodies which have band logos on. He also symbolises that genre of music by the image having him playing his bass guitar.
